INSPIRATION 17th century Dutch paintings… Valentino FW 2013||14 ad

One of the most beautiful advertisement campaigns of this winter might be the maison Valentino Garavani one, inspired by the Dutch artwork of the golden age. The photographer couple Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shot the campaign with the models pose in wonderful virtuous attitudes [right above] for which this period is known for [left above, 'Portrait of a Young Woman with Fan" Jan Daemen Cool 1636]. In addition they have created still-life images that reflect the Flemish style [left below, 'Flowers in a vase with shells and insects" Balthasar van der Ast 1630] including flowers, fruits and feathers surrounding the season’s accessories [right below].
