INSPIRATION 'CITY OF SHADOWS'... Ralph Lauren RRL AD for FW2011//12

Peter Doyle's wonderful book 'City Of Shadows: Sydney Police Photographs 1912-1948' [above]  has been a great deal of inspiration for Ralph Lauren's new ad campaign for the Double RL/ RRL line [below].
Double RL/RRL is the vintage-based and highly exclusive wing of Ralph Lauren's Americana inspired work-wear, started in 1993. RRL takes its name from Ralph Lauren's Colorado ranch and since its inception they have reproduced some amazing vintage garments. Inspiration draws from both military and civilian clothing from the early 20th century onwards, and much of what is produced follows similar designs methods to that period.
