American poet, filmmaker and artist Charles Henri Ford, in this picture from 1937 by Cecil Beaton for Vogue [left]́, is wearing a weird glove costume designed by Salvador Dalí. Maybe this image has been an inspiration to Belgian fashion designer Martin Margiela while creating this wonderful glove patchwork top for his SS||2001 collection [right].
